A FORMER member of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) is on the run following the brutal killing of his girlfriend and her daughter.
The incident occurred at Okangwena location, Ondangwa, during the early morning hours of Sunday.
It is alleged that the suspect fatally stabbed his 37-year-old girlfriend and her two-year-old daughter. A 13-year-old son was also targeted and suffered serious stab wounds. He is admitted to the Onandjokwe district hospital in critical condition.
Another minor, a five-year-old girl, witnessed the brutal event and was taken for counselling.
The Namibian police are requesting members of the public to help trace the suspect who is identified as Simon Kandume, originally from Ohenghono village in the Ohangwena Region.
Kandume was involved in a shooting incident at Rundu some years ago while he was a serving member of the NDF.
