15-MONTH-OLD Royal Fatima Fritz drowned in a bucket of water at Onamanape village in Omusati’s Okalongo constituency on Sunday around 14:00 after reportedly being left alone with other children while her mother was sleeping.
According to crime investigation coordinator Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, the baby was allegedly left in the traditional hut with other children while the mother went to sleep in her room.
Simaho said the other children who were with the deceased reportedly left the baby unattended. She fell into the bucket of water and drowned.
“The deceased’s lifeless body was discovered by the mother who came to look for her,” he said.
Simaho said a post mortem will be done to confirm the cause of death and an inquest was opened.
