A 49-year-old murder suspect on the run since Wednesday after allegedly fatally stabbing Immanuel George Nangoro (48) was arrested at Okapuku village by the Oshikoto police on Thursday.
According to police commander Commissioner Armas Shivute, the deceased and the suspect were reportedly drinking Ombike (a traditional brew) when an argument erupted between them.
“The suspect used an okapi knife to cut the victim on the left foot,” Shivute said.
The victim ran into his room and lay down on his bed.
“The victim’s wife was in the same room when the victim came in. Later on, the wife discovered that the husband was dead and she alerted the police,” Shivute said.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police found the deceased in a pool of blood.
The modified okapi knife was confiscated as an exhibit.
