ISAK “Papatjie” Kongombe, one of the nine suspects that were allegedly involved in the armed robbery of two young farmers and the killing of 40 animals at Farm Otjumue Nord in the Omaruru district, has been arrested and will appear in the Omaruru Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Kongombe was arrested at Farm Etiro-mund in the Karibib district after the police were alerted by the public.
He is part of a group accused of slaughtering 24 sheep worth N$28 800, five goats worth N$6 000 and three heads of cattle worth N$28 500.

The suspects reportedly also stole items worth about N$69 800, and include a generator, a solar panel, 25 litres of milk, two cell phones, two chargers and a power bank.
The incident occurred between Sunday 13 March around 20:00 and the following day around 02:00, after the suspects got access to the victims’ homestead under false pretences by claiming that they were tired and needed water. Once the victims opened the door, they were overpowered, tied up and blindfolded by the suspects.
Kongombe’s arrest brings the total arrested suspects to four, while five are still on the run.
He is also suspected of being involved in another incident that took place last year when four cows valued at N$44 000 were stolen.
The suspect made his first court appearance at the Karibib Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, with regards to this case.
