THE Namibian police in the Omusati Region have arrested three suspects who were allegedly found in possession of fuel that was brought into the country in contravention of the Customs and Excise Act of 1998.
The three male suspects, aged between 26 and 27, were arrested at Etunda village in the Ruacana constituency Saturday afternoon.
They were found in possession of two containers of 25 litres each and four containers of 20 litres each.
The police estimate the street value at N$1 580.
Angolan fuel is being smuggled into the northern regions of Namibia at an alarming rate.
The suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday.
