JOSEPH Nuujoma Petrus (27), charged with the robbery, rape and murder of a 51-year-old woman, remains in custody after being denied bail by the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Hendriana Kambikiti died after a brutal assault at Oshuushu village in the Ogongo constituency on Saturday.
According to the police, Petrus allegedly followed Kambikiti from the location. He reportedly beat her once on the head with a piece of a broken object and then raped her. Kambikiti died as a result of the beating.
Petrus reportedly robbed the deceased of her Nokia cell phone valued at N$300 which was later recovered.
On Tuesday, the case was postponed to 01 June for further police investigations and legal aid.
