MULTICHOICE has confirmed that Russia Today (RT), broadcast on channel 407, will not be available on DStv until further notice.
According to Multichoice, the channel was suspended on Wednesday as a result of the sanctions imposed on Russia by the European Union (EU).
MultiChoice stated that the suspension of the channel was not the company’s decision but that the sanctions led to the “global distributor of the channel ceasing to provide the broadcast feed to all suppliers, including MultiChoice”.

The channel can still be accessed through YouTube.
However, many people are dissatisfied with the unavailability of the channel on DStv, and some have even shared that dissatisfaction on the DStv Multichoice Support Facebook page.
“Why is this channel closed? You’re busy censoring. Open this channel, this is the highest form of dictatorship and favouritism,” a user commented.
