A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy died when he choked on a marula seed.
The deceased and another child, aged five, were looking after livestock at Ombonde village on Friday when the tragedy happened.
According to Nampol spokesperson Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, the boy climbed into a marula tree where he picked a seed and sucked on it. It got stuck in his throat and he choked to death.
Aiyambo said the seed was found next to the boy’s body after it was removed from his mouth by a villager who was called by the house owner.
“No foul play is suspected,” Aiyambo said.
Police investigation continues.
