OSHANA governor Elia Irimari has called on business owners to re-invest in their communities to grow the economy of the country.
Irimari made the remarks during the official opening of the M+Z branch and launch of the new Mercedes-Benz W206 C-Class at Ondangwa.
He said if people start re-investing in their communities they not only change lives but allowed them to be better people who might change the world.
According to Irimari, the opening of the new dealer shop by M+Z is a huge investment for the Oshana Region, as the company contributes to service delivery despite the outbreak of the coronavirus.
“Investment of such a nature is a sign that as a county we are indeed moving and bringing service to faraway areas,” he said.
He added that M+Z has now brought services closer to car owners who used to travel for more than 800 km to acquire the needed car parts.
Managing director of M+Z Ekko Eisenberg said the idea of establishing a branch in the northern area was discussed during a strategic meeting in 2020, at the time the country announced the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Eisenberg said they aimed to find ways how best to generate new revenues without having to retrench any employees or consider salary cuts.
“We had some really hard times during Covid-19 when we lost some of our employees, yet we remained motivated,” he said.
Eisenberg said the company hopes to expand services to continue meeting customers’ demands.
Those attending the event had the opportunity to get the feel of the luxurious Mercedes-Benz W206 C-Class, the fifth generation C-Class that replaces the W205 C-Class produced since 2014.
