NAMWATER has announced that a water pipe close to the weighbridge near Brakwater broke on Thursday night, which could affect water flow to certain areas.
“There is actually no reason for panic because most of the reservoirs of Windhoek are above 50%,” NamWater’s spokesperson Johannes Shigwedha said.
He further stated that only the areas between the weighbridge and NamWater Windhoek Terminal Reservoir will be affected.
According to Shigwedha, it could take up to 12 hours to fix the pipe, but the NamWater team has already started working on it.
“The only problem is, the place is wet. So, we have to pump that water out and bring in some new sand before we can actually start with the actual work,” Shigwedha stated.
