Namibian businesses that are open at night are warned to be on the lookout for N$200 and US dollar counterfeit notes after a suspect was found at an Usakos guest house with fake notes, paper and a machine.
Further investigations by the Erongo police Crime Investigation Unit lead to the arrest of four more Namibian suspects indicating a syndicate at work.

The police confiscated 33 N$200 notes, a sealed aluminum box and blank or defaced USD notes with a value of N$30 600.
The five suspects will appear in the Usakos Magistrates Court tomorrow on charges of the Prevention of Counterfeiting Currency Act.
The police especially wants taxi-drivers and home shop owners to be alert at night as the counterfeit money is not that easily detected.
