Heavy weather with lightning and thunder, and heavy rains in Windhoek suburbs, hid a much bigger rain and flooding river spectacle in the areas of Palmwag, Khorixas and Uis, where rivers were in full flood from rains in the mountainous areas.
In Swakopmund, an angry Atlantic broke the barriers at the Jetty and flooded the road along the beach. It was also raining in this desert town.
In Windhoek, a few houses were flooded and through the miracle of technology and supporters of Informanté, the images can be brought to the safety of your homes.
Meanwhile, the Uniab near Palmwag and the Aba-Huab ran through Khorixas, inflicting a lot of damages on the roads.
In Uis, various roads were damaged as well, with more rains expected during the night.
A huge part of the Kunene region that had suffered under devastating drought the past eight years, finally received rain this afternoon, especially in the mountainous areas.
According to satellite images, more rains are expected in the next two days and travellers are warned to be extra careful when crossing rivers.
