King Nangolo appoints traditional leaders

KING Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo of the Ondonga Traditional Authority (OTA) has moved quickly, filling the positions left vacant following the recent death of two senior members of the OTA, Vilho Kamanya and Kashona Malulu.

Businessman and head of the Ondangwa district, John Walenga, has been appointed OTA chairperson, replacing Kamanya who passed on 31 December 2021.

Walenga will be deputized by ambassador Eddy Amukongo, who was also appointed acting head of the Amuteya district formerly headed by Kamanya.

Amukongo is to be deputized by Simson Nghiteka.

Immanuel Shipanga was appointed to replace the late Malulu as head of the Ombulu district, in an acting capacity. Malulu passed away early this week.

Shipanga will be deputized by Israel Nkondi.

In yet another appointment, Kadhila Ngalangobe becomes the deputy head of the Onalusheshete district, deputizing the district’s long-serving head, Johannes Shondili Amutenya.

Nangolo has also assigned OTA secretary Frans Enkali the additional responsibilities of OTA spokesperson replacing Malulu.
