AS 2021 draws to a close and 2022 holds hope for the best, Namibians owe a huge debt to the labourers of popular tourism destinations, workers cleaning the shoulders of the main roads, police at roadblocks and border control staff that are introduced to the world as examples of hospitality and cleanliness.
In a video circulating on social media platforms, Swakopmund is introduced for its cleanliness, while various other visitors single out Namibian hospitality. This follows an open letter by a South African visitor, Gawie Rousseau, who wrote to President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2019, advising him to visit Namibia by road to see how it should be done.
Informanté shares the most recent video to remind Namibians of the great esteem that strangers and visitors hold for the country and to remind Namibian citizens to continue showing kindness and dignity to those on the streets and next to the road whenever they are passed on journeys. They keep the world noticing.
