A 16-YEAR-OLD boy accused of rape, as well as continuously terrorising women, has been arrested by the Oshikoto police.
This came after he reportedly raped a 34-year-old woman at the Onakandjangi village in the Omuntele area on Wednesday and fled from the police after the victim reported the incident.
He allegedly raped the woman while she was asleep and when she woke up he threatened her to keep quiet.
According to community members, the suspect has been ambushing and assaulting women for quite some time.
They alerted the police of the suspect’s whereabouts.
He was subsequently found hiding at a house in the Onakandjangi village.
The Regional Commander of the Oshikoto police, Commissioner Armas Shivute, on Saturday said more rape charges were laid against the suspect.
“The suspect is expected to appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday,” Shivute said.
