TEN-YEAR-OLD Nikodemus Kotokeni Nefungo died tragically when the donkey cart on which he was travelling with other minors overturned.
According to Commissioner Armas Shivute, Oshikoto regional commander, the incident occurred on Friday at the Oyovu village in the Omuntele area.
Shivute said the deceased was with five other boys between the ages of 10 and 14 years at the time of the incident.
“The little boys were allegedly sent by their parents to their neighbour using a donkey cart. On their return home, the donkey cart bumped against a gate pole and overturned, killing the deceased instantly,” he said.
Shivute said it is still unclear what the children were supposed to do at the neighbour’s house.
The deceased’s body was transported to the Omuthiya police mortuary for an autopsy.
Police investigation continues.
