SEVERAL villages in the Okongo Constituency of the Ohangwena Region are without water since Monday after unknown suspects stole the cylinder of the only water pump in the area.
The water well is located in the Omulondo village and supplies water to two local schools and a number of neighbouring villages, namely Etakaya, Opepela, Epumbalindjaba, Omuloya waTuyoleni, and a youth project at Omutwewomunhu.
Inspector Kaume Itumba said that the cylinder was stolen by two suspects who carried it away to the Okongo-Eenhana main road where they were picked up by a vehicle.
The value of the cylinder is not known yet, and no arrests have been made.
Police investigations continue.
