TRUSTCO Group Holdings is well on its way to achieve its vaccination targets, aimed to protect the lives of its employees, their families, clients and the communities they reside in.
The group has just achieved the 50% percent mark of employees having had their first shots and 20% having achieved full vaccination status, both in and outside of Namibia.

Reaching herd immunity at not only a group level, but also a national level, is a necessity to protect employees and clients who cannot get vaccinated due to medical conditions or compromised immune systems.

Trustco’s vaccination performance is well above the national average of 7,9 percent of Namibians receiving their first shot and 3,84% that are fully vaccinated.

TRUSTCO Group Holdings vaccination targets employees families clients

Since the announcement of Namibia’s national vaccination rollout in April 2021, Trustco Group Holdings has supported and taken the national challenge to heart.

In solidarity with the Government and fellow stakeholders, the company launched an internal and external vaccine education and awareness drive and has been hard at work to do its part to achieve national vaccination targets.

It has been nearly 18 months since Namibia’s President, Dr Hage Geingob, first announced a State of Emergency in the country due to the global outbreak of COVID-19.

As most countries worldwide tried to stop the spread of the disease through proactive measures of public protocols, such as hard lockdowns, restriction of movement, temporary closure of businesses and the wearing of face masks; it was evident from the beginning that vaccination would be the strongest defense in combating the spread of the disease. The first vaccine doses were delivered to Namibia in March 2021.

Vaccine hesitancy due to misinformation has been one of the biggest threats to combating the spread of COVID-19 and Namibia has once again been reminded of the realness of this disease coming out of a very severe third wave that has impacted the entire country. Namibians are therefore urged to take up the challenge together with Trustco and to do their part in fighting the pandemic to allow Namibia’s health and economy to prosper once again.
