PRESIDENT Hage Geingob will update the nation at 15:00 on Friday about the latest measures and government interventions aimed at getting rid of the Covid-19 pandemic that has claimed the lives of almost 3 000 Namibians.
“We slowed the spread of Covid-19 over the past 45 days, but more work remains ahead and I urge for vigilance and behavioural change to defeat COVID-19,” Geingob said.
The Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Kalumbi Shangula, and several other Members of Cabinet will also participate in the national engagement at State House where Namibia’s latest plan of action to curb the spread of SARS-CoV2 in all communities will be announced and discussed.

The nation will also be informed on when certain vaccines will arrive in Namibia.
Since the previous briefing in mid-July, Namibia has received 250 000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine, while many people that have taken the first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccines are still waiting for another consignment to arrive in order for them to be able to take the second dose against Covid-19.
The current measures and regulations will end at midnight on 31 July 2021.
Informanté News will broadcast the national engagement live.
