VICTOR Elia, the man convicted on a charge of murder after killing his former girlfriend, Iyaloo Hainghumbi has failed in his bid to appeal against his conviction at the Supreme Court.
High Court Judge Boas Usiku struck the matter from the court roll without reading the full judgment. Judge Usiku indicated that the reasons for his decision will be made available later.
Elia was tried and convicted for killing Hainghumbi in 2017 and dumping her body on the B1 Road between Windhoek and Okahandja. Hainghumbi, 25, was a student at the International University of Management. Elia murdered her after she ended their relationship.
Elia was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment in May this year.
