TWO people died and two others were slightly injured when a Toyota Corolla (N198595W) crashed into a tree at Oshikango, Ohangwena Region, on Monday evening.
According to the police, the accident occurred a few metres from the Oshikango Police Station at around 17:00.
Two female occupants were seriously injured and both died while being rushed to the Engela district hospital.
The other two occupants — the 33-year-old unlicensed driver and a child aged two, survived the accident with slight injuries.
The police identified one of the deceased women as a 36-year-old resident of the Oshali Village in the Ongenga Constituency, but her name was not released because her next of kin are not yet informed about her death.
The identity of the other woman is still unknown.
It is equally not yet clear as to who, of the two deceased women, was the mother of the surviving child.
Inspector Kaume Itumba said that the unlicensed driver was arrested and added that he will appear in court in due course.
