THE trial date of the fishrot case will only be determined after the application to have the Namgomar and Fishcor joined together is completed in August.
This was decided at today’s case management in the Windhoek High Court.
Although the fishrot suspects weren’t in attendance today due to the national knockdown at prisons, the state Advocate Ed Marondedze and the defense lawyers for the accused men were in attendance for the case management.
The suspects are former fisheries minister Bernard Esau, former justice minister Sakeus Shanghala, former Managing Director of Investec Namibia James Hatuikulipi, his cousin, businessman Tamson Hatuikulipi, former Fishcor Chief Executive Officer Mike Nghipunya, Ricardo Gustavo, Pius Mwatelula, Nigel van Wyk, Otneel Shuundifonya, as well as Phillipus Mwapopi.
On 2 August 2021, the joinder application by the state is scheduled to be heard.
The only suspects not objecting to the application is Esau and Tamson.
