Namibia lost a great educator

Maria David

EDUCATOR, visionary leader, adviser and great help were the words used to describe the late Chief Samuel Ankama, who died on Sunday at the age of 63.

Ankama died after a short battle with COVID-19 at Ongwediva Medi-Park.

Oshana regional governor, Elia Irimari said that the late Ankama moulded many of the Swapo pioneers into the political leaders of today.

Irimari stated that his death is a great loss to the region.

According to him, the late Ankama’s vision for Oshakati while he was the first ever Mayor is still visible in the continuous growth of the town.

“We lost a caretaker that accommodated many of the people that needed assistance and those that know him know that he was very friendly to everyone,” he said.

Irimari stated that the late Ankama was one of the few people that would be willing to advise anybody whenever they met.
