SEVERAL shots were fired by a spectator of what seems to be a spinning contest held at the entrance of the Gammams Cemetery in the Pionierspark residential area of Windhoek.
Apart from the fact that the spectator fired a gun in a residential area while in the vicinity of others, he was also drinking alcohol in public.
The number of people at the spinning contests far exceeded the numbers allowed under the current health regulations.
Only ten people are allowed at a public gathering and spectators are not allowed at sporting events under the current dispensation.
Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga, a senior member of the Namibian Police’s Public Relations Division, said that the incident will be investigated.
He said another incident purportedly by the same group of young people confronting and insulting members of the Windhoek City Police will also be investigated.
