Masilingi flies the Namibian flag high

THE second half of Namibia’s super sprinters, Beatrice Masilingi won the women’s 400 metre sprint at the Orlen Memorial Janusza Kusocinski in Poland with a time of 49:88 seconds.


Her time was almost a second faster than that of Roxana Gomez of Cuba, who finished in second place with a time of 50:76, while Justyna Swięty- Ersetic of Poland finished in third position in a time of 51:04 seconds.


Masilingi’s sensational victory follows the victory of her training partner, Christine Mboma who won the 200 metre sprint for women in Madrid with a time of 22:79 on Saturday evening.
