Council donates incubator to poultry project

THE Ongwediva Town Council has donated an egg incubator to the Faith Poultry Farming project, a group from the New Reception.

 

The egg incubator donated is valued at N$18 000 and has a capacity of 1 056 eggs and can hatch 176 eggs per week.

 

It also functions on solar, batteries or electricity with an input of 180-240 Volts.

 

According to the Mayor of Ongwediva, Father Taarah Shalyefu the donation is part of the council’s social responsibility framework which aims to improve the living standard of the town’s residents in various areas.

Shalyefu stated that Council understands such efforts play a significant role in employment creation, promotion of economic development, and the advancement of food security.

 

Accepting the donation, a managing member of the project, Tiopolina Halweendo thanked the Ongwediva Town Council for responding to their request in time as the incubator was the only option to maximize production thereby grow the project.

 

Halweendo promised to use the donated machine to its full capacity.
