THE Windhoek High Court will today decide whether or not a judge presiding in a matter in which Prosecutor General Martha Imalwa is applying to seize properties belonging to the Fishrot suspects, their companies and some family members, will recuse himself.
Judge Orben Sibeya will make a ruling this afternoon whether or not he will recuse himself.
Bernard Esau’s wife Suama Esau and her daughter, Johanna Ndapandula Hatuikulipi, who is also the wife of fishrot accused, Tamson ‘Fitty’ Hatuikulipi, have also been cited as respondents in the matter alongside James Hatuikulipi, Sakeus Shanghala, Ricardo Gustavo, Pius Mwatelula and their various companies.
The Prosecutor General sought the application in terms of Prevention of Organised Crime Act. According to the PG, a number of assets belonging to Suama and Johanna are linked to the Fishrot crime.
