THE Namibian Police has requested the public’s urgent assistance in tracing the 55-year-old Andreas Kariseb who disappeared from Arandis six days ago.
According to the missing person report provided by the Namibian Police in the Erongo Region, Kariseb left home in Arandis to go to work at the Husab Mine last Thursday morning.
The report states that Kariseb never reported for his shift and that his mobile phone has been off ever since.
Kariseb is described as Damara speaking, being brown in complexion, about 1.70 metres tall. When he was last seen he was wearing a pair of blue jeans, black shoes, and a black and white T-shirt.
According to the report Kariseb is originally from Usakos and that he stays in Arandis for work.
As the investigation into the disappearance of Kariseb progressed, the police discovered that he phoned a friend that resides in Usakos on Friday evening. During the conversation, Kariseb mentioned that he was at a farm in the Otjimbingwe area. He, however, did not mention the name of the farm.
A member of Kariseb’s family informed investigators that this is the second time that he absconded from his home. At the time the family launched a search and discovered him in Usakos a few days later.
Anyone who has seen or knows Kariseb’s whereabouts is requested to urgently contact Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu at 081 246 4757, Detective Sergeant Jonas Karunga at 081 481 1487, or the nearest Police Station.
