President Hage Geingob and First Lady Monica Geingos have responded well to treatment after receiving positive COVID-19 test results last Wednesday.
An official statement by the Namibian Presidency makes it clear that neither the President nor the First Lady of Namibia has been hospitalized since they both had positive test results and that both Dr. Geingob and Mrs. Geingos are in a stable clinical condition.
The President and the First Lady are in a stable condition and in good spirits,” the statement reads.
According to the statement, the First Couple has been in self-isolation at their residence since receiving their test results, and that they are on course for a speedy recovery.

The statement by the Namibian Presidency follows a malicious social media smear campaign that stated that the Head of State was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Lady Pohamba Private Hospital in Windhoek in a critical condition.
The President and the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19 two weeks after travelling to Uganda to attend the inauguration of President Yoweri Museveni.
The Presidency appealed to all Namibians to adhere to COVID-19 protocols and regulations such as the wearing of masks and social distancing in light of the medical emergency occasioned by the pandemic.
