MAGISTRATE Immanuel Udjombala will tomorrow afternoon make a ruling on whether or not British national Harvey Boulter is to be granted bail.
Boulter, 51, was arrested in February 2021 on allegations that he fatally shot his farm manager around the Kamanjab area.
Gerhardus van Wyk, 57, was allegedly shot in a scuffle with Boulter after van Wyk was defending his son. His son, according to court papers, was involved in an argument with Boulter after he made remarks about his wife.
Van Wyk’s family resides on the farm.

Boulter, on the day of the incident, was admitted to a hospital for hand injuries he sustained. He has since been in hospital under police guard. On Friday, the state and defense team concluded their oral arguments. Van Wyk’s family has indicated that they do not object to the granting of bail for Boulter as they fear their salaries may be affected as a result of his continued Incarceration.
It was also argued in court that Boulter employs over 140 people worldwide, whose salaries may be affected.
Boulter argued that he is not a flight risk, that he would stand trial. He, at the same time, refuted media claims that he is a billionaire, adding that he cannot afford a flight ticket at the moment.
A father of three, Boulter said his children currently reside in the United States of America. He also denied owning a private jet.
The state, represented by Advocate Ethel Ndlovu has objecting to bail being granted, fearing that Boulter might abscond due to the seriousness of the offense.
