THE 34-year-old man has been arrested for stabbing to death the 37-year-old Timoteus Iilongeni Iitula following a confrontation over him getting drunk from alcohol that was bought for him at the Ngwananguwo location of the Oniikolondo village.
Omusati Regional Commander Commissioner Titus Shikongo said the incident occurred around 14:30 on Thursday.
Shikongo stated that preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased allegedly confronted the suspect over a rumour that suggests that the deceased was drunk because of the whiskey that the suspect bought him.
According to him, an argument then erupted prompting the deceased to beat the suspect with the side of a panga twice on the chin.
“The suspect in response allegedly drew a kitchen knife from his waist and stabbed the deceased three times on the right lower rib and twice on the right arm,” he said.
Shikongo noted that the victim sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. His body has been transported to the Okahao police mortuary for post mortem purposes.
The suspect has already been arrested.
