THE Namibian Police Force in the Omusati Region has opened an inquest into the death of Shindele Petros Hifingoto an Angolan national whose decomposed body was discovered at the Iikologo village on Monday.
Hifingoto comes from Omongwa village in Angola and was residing in the Iikologo village where he was employed as a domestic worker.
Omusati Regional Commander, Commissioner Titus Shikongo confirmed the discovery of the body and said it is believed that he committed suicide.
Shikongo further indicated that the deceased person stayed alone in the house where he was employed.
“He was last seen alive on Friday at around 20:00 and his decomposed body was found hanging from a thorn tree with black trousers strung around his neck by people who were searching for him,” he said, adding that no suicide note was left behind.
Shikongo noted that the deceased person’s body was transported to the Okahao police mortuary where an autopsy will be performed.
