THE Namibian Police in the Oshana Region is requesting public assistance to trace unknown suspects who used an unknown object to break into the Ongwediva residence of a 61-year-old Cuban while the national was fast asleep.
Police community affairs officer Thomas Aiyambo said that the incident occurred between 03:00 and 06:00 at a flat at the Fisheries and Marine Resources in Ongwediva.
The suspects walked away with a duvet cover, two iPhones, earphones for iPhone, a Toshiba laptop, four rings, one Acasia watch, one bolla Brazilian straight hair, keys for the house, N$1 100 cash, US$270 (N$3 955), 500 Cuban peso (N$366), a black hand bag with bank cards and documents, including a Cuban driving license.
According to Aiyambo, the stolen items with a total value of N$42 810.96 are yet to be recovered.
Aiyambo is urging members of the public to help trace the suspects and the stolen items.
