Hoarusib in full flood

Niël Terblanché

THE Hoarusib River in full flood is a good indication of the amount of rain that fell in the north western parts of Namibia since the Independence long weekend.

At Puros, stormwater flowed down the normally dry river bed at a high rate, which created concerns for people living lower down on the banks.

Travellers in the area of the river were warned to be cautious because they might find themselves in danger when crossing the river or if they are camping close to the river bed.

The video clip of the Hoarusib River in flood was made by a staff member of the Puros Bush Lodge.
