The Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced the lifting of a moratorium which was placed on the application for new fuel retail and wholesale licenses.
Andreas Simon Senior Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Mines and Energy stated that the suspension of applications for new fuel retail and wholesale licenses has been lifted effective 2 March 2020.
He added that the ministry has reviewed the licensing procedures and requirements for granting fuel retail and wholesale licenses, as provided for the Petroleum Products and Energy Regulations of 2000.
The new requirements, guidelines, and application forms can be obtained at the Directorate of Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
He said that once the MME website is restored, the guidelines and forms can be downloaded from the official website or such documents can be physically obtained from the Directorate of Petroleum Affairs at the MME head office.
