THE newly revamped Shoprite retail outlet and several others located in the same shopping centre in the Ngweze Area of Katima Mulio was devastated by a fire.
The fire broke out earlier this morning and it is suspected that a power outage shortly after midnight might have contributed to igniting the fire.
The Katima Mulilo Fire Brigade attended the scene but could do little to extinguish the blaze that was eating through the entire shopping centre.
Other retail outlets situated in the same shopping centre, such as PEP, Hungry Lion, Clicks, and others also sustained severe damage.
The actual cause of the fire will be determined by an investigation once the fire has been extinguished.
