THE community of Omashaka B no longer has to find a shaded spot for hosting public gatherings after the new community hall of their own has been inaugurated.
Ondangwa Urban councillor, Leonard Negonga during the official handover held on Wednesday said the community hall was constructed at a cost of approximately N$54 000 by Tangos Katutura Trading Enterprise.
Negonga stated that the construction of the hall kicked off in December and was completed in the first week of February.
According to him, the constituency has a total of ten centres of which seven have community halls and three have no hall as they are in the townlands and haven’t been given any budget.
“The hall was established to cater to the residents of Omshaka A, B and part of Olukono and may be used by anyone,” he said.
Negonga on the same occasion urged the residents to refrain from vandalising the hall and ensure that it’s always maintained.
