TWO people, of which one is a 12-year old child, have committed suicide in Ohangwena and Oshikoto regions on Friday.
According to reports about the suicides issued by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police on Sunday, the 12-year-old Martin Mbangi Itamalo, hanged himself in his room with a belt at his home in Omuthiya.
According to report, the deceased was in the house with his parents, when he entered his room after he finished covering his school books.
After a while the mother of the deceased started calling his name but after receiving no response she went into his room where she son hanging from the bed with a belt around his neck,” said NamPol.
In a separate incident a 24-year-old woman hanged herself with a rope from a tree at the Ondjana village.
The deceased who was a bar lady was allegedly last seen on Thursday morning at around 09h00 at their cuca shops of Ondjana.
It is alleged that the before her death the woman asked her friend to give her a rope so that she can use it to go and get her goat from a neighbour’s house, but was later discovered hanging with the same rope from a tree.
