Two children have drowned in pools in the Oanob River below the dam with the same name in Rehoboth this afternoon.
Members of the Namibian Police and emergency were on the scene to retrieve the bodies of the deceased young people.

“Let us pray for their families in this tragic time. Please make sure we have adult supervision at such dams and water pools or rivers,” a Paramedic at the scene said.
Contacted for comment, Chief Inspector Elifas Kawinga of the Namibian Police public relations division confirmed the incident but said that information regarding the drowning has not been received yet as police officers are still at the scene of the tragedy.
