A GROUP of people has gathered at the Jan Mohr Secondary School in Windhoek, to protest against the rape of a male learner by a male teacher.
Approximately 40 protesters have been locked outside the school premises, while the vast majority of learners, most of them with posters have been locked inside the premises.
The protest action is spearheaded by the Shutitdown movement, Nanso, and the PDM youth league.
“We want the presence of our Executive Director Sanet Steenkamp. We demand the presence of Education Directors. How many more teachers abused learners? We want justice,” Gregory Madi Nanso Vice President chants.
Ndiiilokelwa Nthengwe, an SGBV Activist, is demanding that the learners locked inside be allowed to join the protest.
“Where is Doreen Sioka? Shutdown Jan Mohr?” the protesters demanded.
