PETER Shikulo, also known as Taliban, and Mweneni Tuyeni Ndeutapo are on the run after an attempt to rob a former constituency councillor on his farm near Tsumeb left one of their gang members dead.
The Namibian Police is searching for the two men and has requested the public to assist in tracing the armed robbers.
According to a report provided by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police, the fatal shooting occurred on 23 January between 23:00 and midnight on Farm Welverdiend where the former councillor of the Guinas Constituency resides.
During the attack, the three robbers held the victim at gunpoint and demanded money.
The former councillor put up a fight and in the process one of the robbers was shot in the back.
When the shot rang out, two of the robbers fled on foot while the wounded person succumbed to his wound on the scene.
According to the report, Taliban and Ndeutapo that normally resides in Okalongo and Tsumeb fled before they could steal any of their victims’ money or property.
