THE bodies of a 32-year-old Zimbabwean woman and her seven-month-old Namibian born baby girl were this morning discovered by a cattle herder a few kilometres outside Otjiwarango alongside the B1 road towards Okahandja.
Regional police spokesperson of the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha, said that the gruesome discovery was reported at around 08:00 on Tuesday, 26 January.
She added that the preliminary investigations indicate that both deceased persons were murdered as the body of the woman was found in a pool of blood with a visible serious wound to her head.
It is suspected that the baby was also hit in the head with an unknown object.
Both deceased persons are yet to be identified and police investigations continue.
