A QUARREL between Albert Hendricks and his landlord over the New Year’s weekend led to him allegedly committing suicide.
According to the incident report provided by the Public Relations Division, the quarrel between the two men erupted at Erf 1920 in the location known as Trans Namib in Keetmanshoop on New Year’s Eve.
After the argument, the deceased allegedly went to lock himself in the room of his brother.
The body of Hendricks was discovered hanging by a pair of trousers from the roof by the landlord, who used a spare key to open the brother’s room because the deceased person was not seen since 10:00 that morning.
No foul play is suspected but the investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
In a separate incident, the body of the 87-year-old Martha Kandjeke was discovered in her bedroom in a badly decomposed state on New Year’s Eve.
According to the family deceased was staying alone in her house in the area of the Onathinge village. She was last seen alive on Wednesday before the long weekend.
