Silent New Year

Silent New Year

Maria David

NAMIBIANS from all over the North were seen celebrating the New Year in silence because of the curfew regulations in place to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Informanté bumped into Collins Bobby while on patrol with members of the Namibian Police, who said the marking of 2021 is different this time because he and his family and friends had to celebrate in secret to ensure they were able to beat their drums as tradition prescribes.

Another visitor from Windhoek was seen sitting at home with loved ones their home in Evululuko.

Luiza Gomes, a resident of Oshakati, indicated that COVID-19 was the new normal, and being in the house was the only thing they were able to do.
