BUILD-IT Ongwediva continues to invest in sport by once again sponsoring the Elyambala Old Crocks Football Club to participate in a veterans’ sports tournament.
The company handed an amount of N$10 000 to the football teams’ players that are all aged 40 and older for the Uukuwangula-Embandu New Year’s Eve tournament planned for the three days from 29 to 31 December.
The Uukuwangula veterans’ soccer tournament has been held for more than a decade on New Year’s Eve at the Embandu stadium outside Oshakati.
The annual tournament is only for two sports codes, namely football and netball. Participants are all sports veterans from the surrounding areas.
According to Elyambala FC Captain, Eliaser Iipinge, this was the second time Build-It poured in support with the first donation being sports kits for the team.
“We have been crowned three times as the winners of the tournament thus far,” he said.
He indicated that the sponsorship by Build-it has lifted the motivation of the players and promised to win the tournament.
