Police looking for offending drivers

THE reckless driving of two Volkswagen Golf GTi’s has caught the attention of law enforcement, with the drivers now the suspects in a criminal case.

The Oshikoto Regional Police Commander, Commissioner Titus Shikongo, has requested the Namibian public to assist the police in tracing the drivers who were captured on video endangering the lives of other motorists while travelling to the north earlier this week.

“The offending drivers and their reckless behaviour was reported to the Namibian Police and a case of reckless and negligent driving has been registered in the Omusati Region. Efforts to trace them through vehicle ownership have proven futile and therefore, assistance is sought through the public to trace the two drivers,” he said.

From the video clips that were shared on various social media platforms, it could be established that the first offence was captured while they were driving between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo.

They were again spotted somewhere in the north performing all kinds of dangerous manoeuvres with their cars.

Any person with information regarding the whereabouts of the two vehicles or the drivers is requested to contact the nearest Police Station or Commissioner Shikongo at 081 127 3448.
