THE Namibian Police Force in the Khomas region has arrested a 24-year-old woman for allegedly dumping her newborn baby in a plastic bag at Havana on Sunday.
According to an incident report provided by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police Force, the woman allegedly used a yet unknown method to terminate her pregnancy and placed the fetus in a plastic bag and threw it away at Havana dumping site during the early hours of Sunday morning.
“The suspect is currently admitted at Central Hospital under police guard,” the report states.
In an unrelated incident, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 45-year-old man at a residence in Soetdoringlaagte, Stampriet during the early hours of Saturday morning.
“It is alleged that that the suspect at had sexual intercourse with the victim under coercive circumstances,” the incident report states.
It is reported that the suspect and the victim resides in the same house but that they are not related. The suspect was arrested and the investigation will continue.
Meanwhile, two men dragged an 18-year-old girl into a house and raped her in a house in a newly developed housing area of Lüderitz over the weekend.
According to the serious crime bulletin, both suspects were arrested and police investigation will continue.
