THE 35-year-old Pieter Johannes Bothma that disappeared without a trace on Wednesday has returned home after spending two days in the desert to “clear his mind”.

The Namibian Police in the Erongo Region stated in a report that Bothma’s wife called them to call off the search after he showed up at their house in the Meersig residential area of Walvis Bay on Friday morning.

According to the report, Bothma told his wife that he went to Dune 7 to get away from home and to clear his mind.

The couple reportedly had an argument on Tuesday afternoon.

Bothma was reported missing by his wife on Thursday. He was last seen by his wife on Tuesday evening at their home, in Etosha Street in the Meersig residential area of Walvis Bay.

When Bothma’s wife reported him missing she told the police that he left the house on Wednesday morning at around 07:00 while she was still asleep.

His mobile phone went unanswered and was switched off for the two days that he spent in the desert.

The Namibian Police said the man’s return home was verified and stated further that the missing person file will be closed in the matter.
