THE 38-year-old Jolandi Cooper is fighting for her life in a Windhoek hospital after her husband shot her in the face during a violent argument in their home in Rehoboth early on Monday morning.
According to Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay, the Hardap Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, the shooting incident occurred shortly after 02:00 on Monday morning in the couple’s home in the Block F residential area.
“It is alleged that the victim’s husband, the 47-year-old Collin Cooper, shot his wife during an argument. He then shot himself in the head and died on the scene,” Clay said.
According to Clay, the couple’s two daughters, ages 11 and 16, were sleeping in the room where their father shot their mother.
“The victim was critically wounded and was rushed to the Lady Pohamba Private Hospital in Windhoek where she is still in a critical condition,” he said.
Clay said that the two girls were taken to their grandmother’s house after the tragic incident.
