A SIX-YEAR-OLD child identified as Sabina Nambambi died on her way to hospital after she and two others, including an elderly, were brutally attacked with a panga at Epanya village near Ohailulu on Tuesday.
Community Affairs Officer Inspector Thomas Aiyambo confirmed the incident on Wednesday morning, adding that a 34-year-man was arrested the same day and charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Martha Nembutal, a 60-year-old pensioner, and 17-year-old Samuel Dortea, survived the brutal attacked.
They are currently receiving medical treatment at the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital and are said to be in a stable condition.
“The suspect assaulted all his victims with the panga and caused them injuries,” he said.
He pointed out that the weapon used on the crimes has been recovered.
Aiyambo concluded that the motive behind the attack is not yet known and police investigations continue.
